just one more and i'm off to bed

just how upset am i with my guests on my previous post? i completely forgot that we had a fire on board at 3:00 this morning.

yes, at 3:00 am, i was awakened by the fire alarm. i thought i was dreaming at first. but when i finally got my wits about me, i put on my uniform and went up to the front office to await further instructions from our manager.

instead of being instructed to post signs all around the ship, the passenger notification team was told to sweep the decks for any guests who were roaming the halls and inform them that everything was under control.

i stayed in the front office to field the calls that came in.

finally, at 4:00, the fire - located in the boiler room - was extinguished and we were told to stand down. so we all went back to our cabins and those of us who had 7:00am shifts tried to catch a few more hours of sleep.

i, of course, had a difficult time getting back to sleep. i don't even remember when i finally dozed off. what i do remember is waking up with a terrible headache when my alarm went off.
