american idol season 6

the last 4 semi-finalists will be sent home tonight and the 12 finalists will be revealed.

now i want to make a fearless forecast and say that a woman will be taking home the idol title in may. there are two girls in particular who i believe will battle it out: lakisha jones, who has been getting a lot of press since the show started; and melinda doolittle, the former back-up singer who, i believe, has proved that she deserves to take the lead. sure, melinda's not pretty like carrie underwood or katharine mcphee. but she's very likable and her performances are always very solid.



still, this guy could be the dark horse and win it all... and i wouldn't consider it an upset. i didn't like blake lewis... until i saw his first semi-final performance (of keane's "somewhere only we know"). since then, he's my favorite male contestant. ever (right next to chris daughtry). i love his contemporary sound, his seamless infusion of his beatbox skills into his performances, and his whole vibe when he's on stage. he just looks really comfortable when he's performing.
